Hi, group! I am sorry I fell behind in blogging in preparations for my South Carolina trip. We will meet for Bible study this Thursday night [February 2]. We will be looking at Acts 4.32-5.42.

I attach here, in segments, my notes for the last class. OK?

Acts 3.1-4.31

3.1-10 The healing miracle
3.11-26 Peter addresses the crowd
4.1-4 Peter and John arrested
4.5-22 Peter and John on trial
4.23-31 Peter and John join the believers in worship

The miracle
Occurs 3.1-10
Peter 3.12 Do you think we did this by ourselves?
This man was made strong 3.16
“This complete healing” 3.16
Jewish leaders ask 4.7 How did you do this?
Peter responds 4.9-10 Jesus did this.
The healed man stood there 4.14
Jewish leaders--“An outstanding miracle” 4.16
People were praising God for what had happened 4.21
Believers—“Do it again, Lord.” 4.30

Jesus
3.6 Peter—“In the name of Jesus, walk!”
3.13 Peter—“God glorified Jesus.”
You handed him over to be killed 3.13

He is the Holy and Righteous One 3.14

Peter—It is in the name of Jesus whom you crucified and God raised from the dead, that this man was healed. 4.10
Jesus is the stone the builders rejected who has become the capstone 4.11
Salvation is found in no one else 4.12
Jewish leaders—took note that these men had been with Jesus 4.13
Don’t speak any longer in the name of Jesus 4.17, 18
Believers—many people in Jerusalem conspired against your holy servant Jesus 4.27
God, enable us to perform more miracles in the name of Jesus 4.30

Name
3.6 In the name of Jesus, walk.
3.16 By faith in Jesus’ name, this man was made strong.
3.16 It is Jesus’ name and the faith that come through him that healed him
4.7 “By what power or what name did you do this?
4.10 It is by the name of Jesus that this man was healed.
4.12 There is no other name by which people are saved.
4.17 “We must warn these men to stop speaking in this name.”
4.18 “commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.”
4.30 perform signs through the name of your holy servant Jesus.

The healed man
Crippled from birth 3.2
Being carried 3.2
Placed at the temple gate every day to beg 3.2, 10
He saw Peter and John 3.3
He asked P and J for money 3.3
He gave P and J attention, expecting to receive money 3.5
When Peter spoke and took him by his right hand, his feet and ankles were strengthened 3.7
He jumped to his feet 3.8
He walked into the temple, jumping and praising God 3.9
He held on to P and J 3.11
Peter—this man can walk 3.12
This man whom you see and know was made strong 3.16
A cripple who was healed 4.9, 10
The man who had been healed 4.14

The crowds
All the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him, were filled with wonder and amazement 3.9-10
All the people were astonished and came running to them 3.11
Peter spoke to them 3.12
You handed him over, disowned him 3.13,14
You killed Jesus 3.15
You can see the healed man 3.16
You acted in ignorance 3.17
You should repent, turn to God, and have your sins wiped out 3.19

You are heirs of the prophets and the covenant God made with your fathers 3.25
